Rising Star Jaxon Kohler Goes In Depth on Game & Recruitment After Big Weekend in Dallas
2022 big Jaxon Kohler had a strong performance this weekend at the War B4 The Storm Event in Dallas. Matching up against some of the premier talent in the nation, he displayed a versatile skillset and the ability to impact the game from multiple areas on the court.
“My game is playing the stretch 4 and 5. I like to play in the post and pattern my post moves after Hakeem Olajuwon and Kevin McHale. I can also step out a bit and shoot it from three and set screens. I’m a solid passer on the perimeter and study Jokic so I can make plays for other teammates. Just being a good big with scoring, passing and defending.”
It was fun to watch the reigning 6A Mvp Ethan Potter go up against the kid gunning for his crown @jaxonkohler. He makes it look so easy. Footwork is the 2nd to none. Head fakes 2nd to none. Silky smooth fade away with touch. Utah you are officially on notice! Mr. Kohler home! pic.twitter.com/prcWKctzz0

Kohler has impeccable footwork on the block, with an array of pivots with either foot to create space for easy finishes. Jaxon is a true inside-outside threat with the ability to consistently space the floor from distance while providing rim protection and rebounding on the defensive end.
The talented junior is already coveted on the recruiting trail with offers from BYU, Utah, Texas Tech, Southern Utah, San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, Loyola Marymount and Grand Canyon.
Jaxon may be on the verge of becoming a national level prospect, as several prominent programs are also in the mix.
“Arizona, Saint Mary’s, Oregon, Gonzaga, UCLA and Cal are all showing interest as well.”
Kohler is nowhere near making a decision, but player development and on-court fit will be among the more critical factors in making his college commitment.
“I want to go to a school where I’m an important part of the offense and I get the ball. Player development is big, because getting to the next level is the ultimate goal. I’d like to stay close to family if possible, but I’m going to pick the best situation regardless of location.”
