2022 Javon Adams of Team Durant is experiencing a breakout Spring and attributes that to his hard work over the last year.

“Just trying to play to the best of my ability. There’s a big difference from last Summer to this Summer in terms of my rebounding, effort level and overall game. But I know I can still take it to another level.”

At 6’10, Adams captured our attention as an athletic + lengthy prospect with ballskills and an extremely high ceiling.

“I’m versatile. I can shoot and dribble and most people call me more of a wing. I’m athletic and can jump out the gym. Definitely a switchable defender from 2-5.”

On the recruiting trail, Javon currently holds offers from Rhode Island, Rider, Radford, ECU, Bryant, LaSalle and Iona.

The standout junior appears to be on the cusp of leading a national level recruitment with several prominent programs keeping tabs.

“Temple, Pitt, VCU, Howard, Penn State, Michigan, Baylor and Cal State are showing interest.”

Javon has no leaders and isn’t close to a decision, but there are a few schools making a push in hopes of securing a commitment down the road.

“Penn State, LaSalle, Iona and Cal State are the schools I’m hearing from the most right now. I’m looking at possibly setting up visits to those schools.”

Adams tentatively plans on making a college selection during the late-signing period and preparation for the next level will be paramount.

“I plan on cutting my list in the Winter and committing during the late signing period. The biggest factor is how can the school develop me to play at the professional level.”

With the live evaluation periods looming in July, the up-and-coming forward continues to focus on his perimeter skillset.

“Definitely working on getting more consistent with my jumper and more confident with my ballhandling ability.”

We really like Javon as a high-upside forward with some face-up ability off the bounce. The two-way potential here is high considering Adams’ agility and a wingspan that exceeds 7′. He has the look of a prospect that will rise up recruiting boards in July and we look forward to further evaluations.
