The University of Detroit-Jesuit have won all five of their CHSL titles in the last five years starting when Michigan State freshman point guard Cassius Winston was a high school freshman. This year their 63-56 win over Warren De La Salle took the turn with junior guard Elijah Collins’ buzzer beating 3rd quarter transition three from the top of the key followed by the and one points of future college football player, Scott Nelson, to start the fourth quarter. The Pilots’ lead was cut to 1-point, 46-45, and from their UDJ kept rolling.

On Thursday at 7:30pm at the University of Detroit-Mercy’s Calihan Hall, the University of Detroit-Jesuit will play the Detroit Public School champion, Cass Tech, which one should expect to be a near packed house. The 5pm game at Calihan Hall between each league’s playoff runner-up teams will pit Detroit King vs Warren De La Salle.

The Catholic League’s C-D Championship, Lutheran North in their first year in the Catholic League provided a strong show by winning, 70-62, over Riverview Gabriel Richard.
