Catching Up With Emanuel Sharp: Dynamic 2022 Guard Analyzes Game & Updates Recruitment
Biship McLaughlin guard Emanuel Sharp should be receiving more national buzz coming off a dominant sophomore campaign where he put up nearly 32 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per contest.
“I’m a combo-guard that can score. I get to the rim, shoot at a high level and get my teammates involved.”

Emanuel is an outstanding perimeter shotmaker that makes plays for others off the bounce and finishes through contact in a 6’4 frame.
While the mainstream media doesn’t necessarily give Sharp adequate attention, college coaches are certainly intent on adding him to their respective programs. South Florida, Texas Tech, SMU, Florida, Rutgers, Iona, Georgia Tech and Xavier have all extended offers, with several other heavy-hitters keeping tabs.
“Florida State, Houston, Notre Dame and Virginia are also showing interest.”
The sharpshooting sophomore is still in the infancy stages of his recruitment, but development and preparation for the next level will factor heavily in the decision-making process.
“I want to find a program where I fit in with team and can contribute to the team’s success. A school and coach that will help me develop and hopefully get to the next level.”
While the health crisis has robbed Emanuel of live evaluation opportunities, he’s using the extra time to make physical gains.
“I’ve mainly been working on my body with strength and agility. And getting more consistent with my three ball.”
We’re very high on Sharp as a lead guard with a potent pull-up game, good vision, undervalued athleticism and the versatility to slide to either guard spot. His skill level allows him to thrive with virtually any lineup combination and we cannot wait to see him as a junior in what figures to be a strong Bishop McLaughlin squad with fellow 2022s Dillon Mitchell and Anthony Davis among others.
