Buy Stock Now: Undervalued Forward Taylor Hendricks Among The Elite For 2022
Calvary Christian (FL) forward Taylor Hendricks is off to a fast start in the early season, averaging better than 15 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks per contest for a 5-2 Eagle team that has played arguably the toughest schedule in the nation.
“Season is going well so far, we’re 5-2 with our only losses to Montverde and IMG. The schedule has been hard. We’re watching lots of film and just looking to get better every day.”
Hendricks is a lengthy 6’9 Forward with ball-skills and perimeter shotmaking ability while having the combination of size and verticality to be a premier rim-protector.
“I’m comfortable getting the ball at the free throw line to drive or pull-up, I like to crash the offensive boards and I enjoy blocking shots.”
The standout junior is a wanted man on the recruiting trail with offers from the likes of Miami, Florida State, LSU, Yale, UCF, Iowa State, Virginia Tech, Penn, USF, Iona and Florida.
Taylor also reports interest from a handful of other programs such as Memphis, Western Kentucky, Harvard, Princeton and St. Louis.
While he has no leaders at the moment, 6 schools are making him a priority in the early stages of his recruitment.
“Iowa State, UCF, Memphis, Yale, Penn and Harvard are recruiting me the hardest right now.”
A commitment is a long ways off, but comfort with prospective coaching staffs and the opportunity to contribute early will feature heavily in the decision-making process.
“I’m looking to commit some time at the end of my junior year or the beginning of my senior year. Relationship with the coach, how I fit in their system, and a path for playing time as freshman are some of the big factors.”
With campus visits at a pause based on the health crisis, Taylor is locked-in on his agility and consistency with his shooting.
“I want to get better at guarding the perimeter and continue to improve my perimeter shooting.”
While he’s criminally undervalued with other publications, we immediately entered Hendricks as 4-star that has the look of a top 50 overall prospect in 2022 when our rankings are fully updated. Taylor’s combination of size, length, shotmaking, ballskills and shotblocking puts him in rare company for the junior class. The scary part? Hendricks hasn’t even scratched the surface of what he will ultimately become. With continued skill development and muscle mass gains, it appears likely that he’ll be an impact two-way player at the next level.
